Happy World VFX Day!
Today is the first ever ‘World VFX Day’
Wondering "What is VFX?". VFX is short for "Visual Effects" which is a term used in the TV and Film industry. It is used to describe imagery that is made or manipulated to show things that are difficult or impossible to achieve with standard filmmaking techniques. VFX may be achieved 'in-camera' with 'CGI' (Computer Generated imagery) or a combination of both.
George Méliès was a French Filmmaker who pioneered the use of Visual Effects long before the invention of the computer said:
“A film is a dream made visible on the screen”
